OVERVIEW
Water detection sensor for industrial applications
Data loss, irreparable damage, lost revenue—all could have been avoided through the early detection with a Monnit Industrial Water Rope Sensor.
When liquid contacts the sensor’s conductive polymer rope, the sensor instantly activates its onboard RF radio and transmits water presence data to the iMonnit Sensor Configuration and Management software and facilitates a near-instantaneous text, call, or email alert.
The Water Rope Sensor detects conductive liquids anywhere along the length of the detection rope by using two wires covered with conducting polymer. When water or conductive liquid contacts the rope, the sensor will immediately turn on the RF radio. Then, the sensor transmits the data to the wireless gateway and the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System, allowing you to immediately receive an alert by SMS text, email, or voice call. The sensor rope quickly dries so it can reset.
More ways to monitor for leaks and spills
The sensor comes with an industrial battery included with the life of up to 7 years. This water detection sensor comes with 10 feet of a sensing lead or detection rope. Additional 10-ft sections are available and can be connected up to 100 feet.
All industrial sensors are enclosed in a reliable, weatherproof NEMA-rated enclosure that are constructed for both indoor and outdoor use. These rugged enclosures protect the sensor circuitry against;
- Falling dirt
- Wind-blown dust
- Rain, sleet, snow, splashing water, and hose-directed water
- Ice formation on the enclosure
- Increased resistance to corrosion
Features
- Impressive wireless range of up to 1,200 feet through walls
- Frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS)
- Improved interference immunity
- Improved power management for longer battery life
- Encrypt-RF® Security (Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange + AES-128 CBC for sensor data messages)
- Over-the-air updates
- Free iMonnit basic online wireless sensor monitoring and notification system to configure sensors, view data and set alerts via SMS text and email
- Stores 2000 to 4000 readings if gateway connection is lost (non-volatile flash, persists through the power cycle)
- 10-minute heartbeats = ~ 22 days
- 2-hour heartbeats = ~ 266 days
Applications
- Frozen or Burst Pipe Monitoring
- Reservoir Level Monitoring
- Storage Unit Monitoring
- Water Intrusion Monitoring
- Freezers and coolers
- Document retention center monitoring
- Basement water monitoring
- HVAC system operation and testing
- Environmental monitoring
