FAQ'S
Q. Are there Ethernet or Wi-Fi options for the HOBO MicroRX?
A. The HOBO MicroRX is a cellular station. If you need to monitor via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, you can use the HOBO RX3000 Remote Monitoring Station.
Q. If I choose the battery-powered MicroRX, can I add a solar panel later?
A. No, the battery-powered station is only wired for use with lithium batteries, not for use with the solar panel. If you want to use solar power, choose one of the solar-powered stations: the RX2102 or the RX2104.
Q. Can I add more plug-and-play smart sensors to my HOBO MicroRX Station?
A. Yes. You can add the S-ADAPT-6 Consolidator Box to connect up to five additional smart sensors with your MicroRX Station.
Q. Why would I need an additional solar panel if I choose the integrated solar MicroRX station?
A. You may want an additional solar panel to boost power to ensure connectivity at the maximum 10-minute rate. It may also be a good option if your system is not deployed in full sun.
Q. Does the HOBO MicroRX work with HOBOnet wireless motes?
A. The HOBO MicroRX Station has inputs for up to five plug-and-play smart sensors. If you need wireless monitoring, use the RX3000 with the RXW Manager for HOBOnet sensors.
Q. Do the S-CIA or S-VIA analog inputs adapters fit in the HOBO MicroRX Station?
A. No. If you want to use these adapters to connect analog sensors, use the S-ADAPT-6 Consolidator Box and mount the adapters in this.
Q. What tools will I need to install the HOBO MicroRX?
A. If you are mounting your station with cable ties, you will need diagonal cutting pliers for cutting off excess cable tie. If you are mounting with U-bolts, you will need a ½” box wrench. If using screws to mount your station, you will need a Phillips-head screwdriver.
